Solar-Log® Brainstorm Session at Weisshorn Peak, Italian Alps

Lukas Goller has been with Solar-Log® for 13 years and Silvia Blumenschein has been with Solar-Log® for 10 years. A combined total of 23 years of Solar-Log® experience climbing one of the most beautiful mountains in the Italian dolomites.

It was a summer brainstorm session unlike any other. Solar-Log® North America and Solar-Log® Italy met atop the Weisshorn Peak in the Italian Alps to discuss the all-new Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ 4 platform. This fresh-air session was attended by Silvia Blumenschein of Solar Data Systems and Lukas Goller of Solar-Log’s first-ever Service Partner, now called PV Data.

Silvia and Lukas discussed the major ways in which Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ 4 will benefit different professionals within the solar industry. From eliminating lengthy set-up times for installers to reducing O&M troubleshooting efforts for service providers.

Lukas is not only a sales partner for Solar-Log® but he is also a former Solar-Log® customer. In 2007, Lukas and then partner Thomas Kofler founded PV Energy, which started with a 20MW portfolio with 200 sites. Lukas brought on Solar-Log® to help monitor the company’s portfolio.

Lukas left PV Energy in 2020 to start PV Data, Solar-Log’s Service Partner in Italy.

“We now have a portfolio of over 500MW in Italy and Austria connected to Solar-Log®,” said Lukas. “We have a team of 5 people at PV Data. It was great to have this brainstorm session to talk about how customers and partners like us can use Enerest™ 4 to reduce the time it takes to manage large portfolios.”

Part of the brainstorm session was discussing how to introduce new and current customers to the new software. Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ 4 is currently available and additional functions are being added weekly. Silvia and Lukas discussed which enhanced features, like the integrated service ticketing system or customizable views, will be most valuable to users.

“Lukas and I have known each other for many years. This brainstorm session was a wonderful mix of a summer break, spending time with old friends, and using the time constructively to further help our customers,” said Silvia. “We were so lucky to have this breathtaking view as the backdrop to our discussion on how Solar-Log® will further help our customers.”

One pain point that Solar-Log WEB Enerest™ 4 will ease is having to click around in order to see all of the PV plant data needed to troubleshoot an issue. Enerest™ 4 consolidates charts and plant details to 1 page. Issues can be analyzed in fewer clicks. Solar-Log® users enjoy more plant uptime and spend less time on monitoring their solar power.
